What if you could recycle your broken crayons and give them a new life using 3d printing?
‘ RP CRAYON’ is a potential concept for recycling of wax crayons that explores how children can create their own drawing tools and at the same time learn about material and form through play. The procedure enables children to make their own creations in modeling clay that can be 3d scanned and rapid prototyped into crayons. The child is in control of the whole process and can visualize how a shape can be transformed into a different material. This could be a possible education activity for schools.
Crayons break easily but still continue to remain the function for drawing. This idea illustrates how broken or worn out pieces can be reused in new forms and colour combinations.
